Karl and I went downtown, to our favourite wine bar to have a glass of wine on his birthday and on the wall behind us was this beautiful collection of food pictures. So we told our lovely server that we really loved the photography art on the wall and surprisingly enough, she was the artist who created them! Her name is Talhia (such a pretty name!) and she is so talented!!

I asked her if I could do a feature on her on my blog and she said yes!

Here’s a quick Bio of her as well as some of my favourite pieces from her collection:

I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this one!!!

Talhia McNeil is fine art photographer who focuses on both landscape and portraiture photography. She was first introduced to photography through the art program at the high school she attended, St Catharines Collegiate. During her time at Collegiate she was recognized for her photographic talents in the St Catharines Collegiate art show and the photo contest, Kodak: Images of Who We Are, where she was exhibited. Her formal education continued at Carleton University with the successful completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Art History program.

Her time at Carleton only fueled her passion for photography through her studies of the history of photography and membership in the Carleton Photo Club. Talhia continued her amateur studies of photography through part-time courses at The Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. Talhia spent a significant about of time traveling and photographing on an amateur level until she discovered The School of Photographic Arts Ottawa. Upon acceptance into their full time portfolio program she relocated to Ottawa where she has successfully completed the program.

Currently Talhia is exhibiting at The Brew Table and Must Wine and Tapas Bar in Ottawa, Ontario and has recently completed several group exhibitions at The Atomic Rooster, and Hintonburg Public House in Ottawa, Ontario. She has also been part of 2 group shows at Gallery Godo in Los Angeles, California.
