Beautiful British Columbia – Yeah…they were right to call it that way!

I have to start by telling you this: In Vancouver, they have a park downtown!!! Just like in New York City!!!

I know, you had me at PARK DOWNTOWN !

This one is called Stanley Park and it is simply beautiful. I can see myself going for a walk in the forest during my lunch hour…I mean, I could say that I am going for a run but who am I kidding really?

On top of that, we were there for 10 days and we had 10 days of pure sunshine. If you are not aware, there is quite a bit of precipitation down there. I mean, I thought we were going to be visiting in the rain for 10 days but we got so lucky!

Enough about the weather…. Here’s a few shots of Stanley Park

There’s even a beautiful lake within the park!!!

And turtles! Come on!!!!

After a nice walk in the park, we went to eat mini soft tacos at La Taqueria. They make cute little tacos with local ingredients!! You can go there for a snack as well as full an actual meal since you can order as many mini tacos as you want.

On our last day in Vancouver, we went to the Peaceful restaurant where they make their own fresh noodles. I was simply delicious and ridiculously cheap! Ethan Adeland (TastesBetterWithFriends) recommended us this restaurant. Good call Ethan!

Since we love food so much, our lovely host (we rented an appartment on AirBnB.com) suggested that we go to Grandville Island to see the big Market.

No need to say that I was crazier than a kid in a candy store!!!!

I was going for one shop to the other, wanting to buy everything they had freshly made that day.

I mean….look at the pasta!!!!

Anyways, we stayed at the market for about 1 hour and a half, buying all sorts of things for our next destination: Whistler. Now, I have to tell you that we were extremely lucky to have my cousin as a guide for us to know what to see in the area. She used to work in Whistler and Vancouver so she made us a beautiful list of the “must see” places of the area. This made life very easy for us!

This is a shot I took while Karl was driving, on our way to Whistler.

I swear to you, the only word coming out of of my mouth, and Karl’s mouth as a matter of fact was : WOWWWWW!

WOW!

And then I said: Why doesn’t everybody live here!?

On the way there, we stopped in Squamish to see the falls. The following picture was taken there.

This is a the base of the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. WOW

And this is on top of the mountain…..again…WOW

I mean…..really? Can’t we just stay here forever?

This is actually the Whistler mountain. We went up the Blackcomb mountain because Whistler was closed (end of ski season but not Summer Hiking season yet)

Just walking around, looking at this…..

It was nice because we went to Whistler during the low season so there was no tourist and every single store had great sales on! I found some cute summer dresses! Bonus!

Oh! I almost forgot to say that we saw 2 bears while we were in Whislter (thankfully, we were far enough from them for me to start screaming or just pass out but…) they were beautiful!

All to say that we had an amazing trip!!! There is still a lot of British Columbia we haven’t seen and you can count on us to go back and discover more!!! I heard there was a lot of fine wineries down there… this might just be our next destination!

Vancouver is only about 2 hours away from Seattle by car! Go visit next time you are in that area!
