Course: Dessert    Yield: 12 servings    Prep Time: 15 mins    Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup butter, melted
  • 3 Cup white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 Cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 Cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each, until thoroughly blended.

  4. Bake in preheated oven until an inserted toothpick comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Remove, and cool pan on wire rack before cutting.
  5. For the ganache, melt ΒΎ cup of chocolate chips in the microwave with the cream, stirring every 20 seconds until the chocolate is completely melted.
  6. Dip the cooled brownie squares in the ganache, but let the ganache rest for a bit before doing so.
  7. Enjoy!

I must make these for my students! They would love it. I have a questions about the quantity of chocolate chips, though. The recipe calls for “! 1/2 cups” of chocolate chips. Is that quantity for the brownies only or do you split the amount for the brownies and ganache (3/4 cup for ganache)? Thanks!

    • I just fixed it πŸ™‚ Like you said, it would be half for the brownies and half for the ganache πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoy them as much as I do πŸ™‚

Do you think these could be frozen? Perhaps before dipping in ganache?

    • You are correct πŸ™‚ Yes, but before dipping in the ganache πŸ™‚ I would wrap them individually and put them in an air tight container to prevent freezer burns πŸ™‚ Enjoy!
