You know when someone recommends that you try a specific restaurant and go by principles but you end up being totally awed by the amazingness of the food?
That’s what happened to us when we went to La Azotea in Seville.
AMAZING!
I’m sure you all know that tapas restaurants are very popular in Spain, so when I heard that this restaurant was a tapas restaurant, I was expecting traditional tapas like we’ve had so many times. Boy, was I ever wrong!
These guys make MODERN style tapas. They still keep some of the traditional ingredients and recipes but they put a modern and delicious twist on them to make truly amazing tapas!
We took a few pictures of the different tapas we ate (we actually took half portion, which are a bit bigger than tapas sizes).
Now, keep in mind that I took these pictures with my iphone in a dimly lit room π
This is the tapas menu.
Since this is a very popular restaurant for locals, (I now completely understand why!) we had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated. While we were waiting we had some delicious regional white wine along with some yummy olives.
We then ate the following π
Rice paper triangles stuffed with cheese, prawns & leeks
Croquets – Chef’s Surprise (They were filled with sweet potatoes, crab and cheese (I think!)
Tuna Belly marinated in soya sauce topped with black olive tapenade
Fillet of aged beef
Needless to say, we had an amazing meal! The staff was very nice as well π
If ever you get to go to Sevilla, (which I hope you do because it is a beautiful city!) you MUST go eat there!!
Enjoy!
