And the 2 lucky winners are…….
Congrats to both of you!!!!
What is scary is that most of it is produced by third world countries and bought by big corporations, we won’t name any *cough cough*, who focus on getting products for the cheapest price possible, not thinking about the people and communities making them.
When you go get your overpriced latte, do you question the integrity of the company? Do you wonder where your coffee comes from and how well the people who cultivate it live? Ignorance is bliss for most people but I try to be aware of where my purchases come from.
That’s why I want to introduce you to this amazing company who shares the same values as I do.
Kicking Horse Coffee
Helping and giving back to the Community
I have to say that it must be scary to go against big coffee corporations. It takes guts for sure, but I do believe that more and more people are taking the time to research about the products and make smart and informed decisions. That’s how I came across Kicking Horse Coffee.
Kicking Horse Coffee was founded in 1996 and has been making organic, fair trade and sustainable products since then. You have to understand (as I have been through this whole process myself) that finding organic and fair trade products is hard and getting the certification is even harder. In a way it is good since only truly organic and fair trade products get the certifications but a lot of companies will give up early in the process since it is long and costly.
Back to the coffee.
Kicking Horse makes and sells 17 different kinds of coffee but my personal favorite is the “Kick Ass” Coffee.
And yes, the fact that it’s called Kick Ass makes me a bit bias but it is also because its taste is simply amazing and it is just my kind of coffee : Intense and Bold! You want to get a kick start in the morning? Get some of this coffee!!
